The Work of Byron Katie

The Work of Byron Katie is a method of questioning stressful thoughts in order to find freedom from them. It is a way of identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause fear, violence, depression, frustration and suffering in the world.

It is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question the thoughts that cause all the suffering in within your mind. It is a way to understand what’s hurting you and to address the cause of your problems with clarity.

Created by Byron Katie, this process of questioning, known as ‘The Work’ is being used around the world by therapists, coaches, teachers, business leaders, facilitators, parents and children alike. Why? Because it really works! It produces powerful and empowering realizations, sometimes within just a few minutes of applying it to a current issue.

Listen to Bryon Katie explain a key theme in The Work – the theme of the “Three Businesses”:

The Work has been intensively taught to a small group of people who have become Certified Facilitators of this healing method. Tom Compton is one such person. Furthermore, Tom previously held the position of School Director for The School for The Work of Byron Katie; staffing over 25 of her 9-day and 14-day programs since 1999.

As Tom gently guides you along an inner journey over the week, you will gradually discover a new type of inner freedom from the stressful thoughts and negative thinking that you may have been carrying within you for decades. You will be able to observe long held worries, doubts and frustrations simply melt away in front of you. It is an incredible experience.

This process will almost certainly change the way you see yourself, others and the world around you.

You can expect to come away feeling like you have had some kind of ‘software update’ deep within your mind. It is a wonderful experience that will leave you with a lasting sense of peace inside.

(Tom comes across a bit serious in this video, but in person he is a very humourous guy with a huge heart!)
